Dennis Merrill has over 20 years of experience in the design, manufacture, and commercialization of spectroscopic tools for the industrial, medical, and laboratory markets. Previously Dennis has held executive roles in engineering and product development in both startup and large companies. Dennis was the Vice President of Engineering for Headwall Photonics where he launched hyperspectral imaging products for industrial markets. Prior to that he founded and served as the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering at Galaxy Scientific, a company pioneering realtime FT-NIR spectroscopy for food and agriculture. Dennis has also held executive roles in engineering and product development for Thermo Fisher where he led the development of handheld and benchtop Raman, FT-IR, and UV/Vis product lines. Dennis has brought over 20 optical products to market to date. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from MIT Sloan.
